At the start of this season, the New York Rangers retired their old Broadway Hat from last season and had a new one by Hugo Boss.

But after the first win of the season, the Hugo Boss Broadway Hat disappeared. It may have even been stolen, according to Rangers goalie Martin Biron.

Biron revealed the news while talking to NHL Network’s Kathryn Tappen after the win against the Tampa Bay Lightning last night:

“This year when we won the first game at home, somehow our hat got stolen out of our locker room or we lost it or something”, Biron said.

So what did the Rangers do? Rangers owner James Dolan came to rescue, according to Biron. “Mr. Dolan walked into the [locker] room wearing a black Giorgio Armani hat and we took it off his head and he was willing to give it up for the year so that’s good.”

Kind of crazy (and pathetic) that someone would actually steal the Broadway Hat, if that is actually what happened.
