
Rick Nash isn’t going to waste any time, as he agreed to play for Swiss National League A HC Davos. Brad Richards, however, is deciding to stay in the United States – for now.
With a lockout in effect, Rick Nash is taking his talents to the Swiss National League A HC Davos.
ESPN New York’s Katie Strang reports Nash wants to “hit the ground running in New York” when the lockout ends. She adds that Nash is “committed to doing well, staying sharp” presumably in New York, of course.
In a related note, fellow Rangers star Brad Richards won’t be playing overseas – for now anyway. Richards is staying in the United States and is “focused on working out here for the time being”, according to a text exchanged between Richards and ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun.
This could be a good thing for Richards, who presumably will continue to help any of the Rangers roster that also stays stateside. But it doesn’t sound like Richards has completely closed the door on playing in Europe.
Only time will tell how long the NHL lockout lasts, and whether or not more of the Rangers roster decides to play overseas.
