Update: Nash was taken out of the game as a precaution, and has a shoulder injury, no concussion.

If the latest rumors on Twitter are to be considered genuine, we may have a serious problem with Rick Nash:

He follows up that tweet with this:

Matias Strozyk is a blogger for Finnish hockey blog Jatkoaika.com.

Here’s the facts: Nash injured his shoulder in a collision/altercation with Ilkka Heikkinen nine minutes into the game. Nash of course is playing for HC Davos in Switzerland.

As of right now, that’s all we know and the concussion is just a rumor. An upper body injury is confirmed, at least. Either way, this lockout could go on as long as it wants if Nash does indeed have a concussion – because we all know how long those take to recover from.

With Gaborik already recovering from a shoulder surgery, if Nash is also out for an extended period of time, suddenly the Rangers first line becomes a lot less intimidating. And the postseason could be a lot less exciting.
